Planning my trip to the USA

For the past several months I’ve been trying to carefully plan my trip overseas to the United States. So far the only two places I’m definitely going to are Portland, Oregon and Minneapolis, Minnesota. There’s a few other places that I’d definitely like to visit such as; Cape Canaveral, Los Angeles, New York City, Sans Francisco, Seattle, South Dakota and Washington DC.

This would probably be my minimum for my first trip, there’s obviously lots of other places I would want to go but money and time is short for the first trip and I’ll definitely be going back later anyway. Here’s my idea of my first trip so far;

In Los Angeles I’d like to visit.. Aquarium of the Pacific, Blizzard HQ, California Science Center, Disneyland, Griffith Observatory, Hollywood, Hollywood Wax Museum, Knott’s Berry Farm, Ripley’s… Believe it or Not Museum, Santa Monica Pier, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld San Diego, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios and Venice Beach.

In Sans Francisco.. Alcatraz, Cable Cars, Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park and Pier 39.

In Portland.. Japanese Garden, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and Oregon Zoo.

In Washington State.. Mt St Helens, Seattle Aquarium, Space Needle, Woodland Park Zoo.

In South Dakota.. Badlands, Falls Park and Mt Rushmore. *Maybe, could scrap this part perhaps but really would like to see Mt Rushmore*

In Minneapolis.. Mall of America and Minnesota Sculpture Garden.

In New York.. American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Empire State Building, Niagara Falls, Statue of Liberty, Time Square and Trinity Church.

In Washington DC.. International Spy Museum, National Air and Space Museum, National Archives, The Monuments & Memorials, The Smithsonian Institution, United States Capitol and White House / White House Visitor Center.

And of course in Florida I’d love to visit the Kennedy Space Center.

I’ll leave Vegas for my next trip, but is there any places on here you’d suggest not going to, or any places you would suggest I would go to in these cities that’s not already listed? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll definitely take it under consideration! I need help planning!

    Hate to say it but how long are you going? Will need a lot of time to get all that done. Need any advise on how to get around… Give me a yell :)

      I’m looking at going for about 2 months, maybe more or less. It all depends on how much I can save ;) I figure 2 months should be enough for the things listed above.

    Washington D.C. does have a ton of museums and such, but there is so much more there to experience. There is a lot of fun and interesting things to do in Washington DC. Also, if you are there and you are into museums and a little US history see Fairfax, VA nearby. It is a good vacation spot outside of busy DC. Cheers!
